Acorny Fall

Good morning and welcome back to the inspiration blog!  I'm happy to have you here today to see the details on this darling Fall card from the new Festive Holidays release.  

I started with an A2 kraft card panel and the plaid stencil from the Anytime Background Stencils.  This is a fabulous stencil pack, with various background stencil options, that can be used independently or together for a layered stencil look.  I love to combine two, unrelated stencils for a unique background.

I blended the center of the card with Iced Tea Ink and then went around the edges with Coffee Bean to create a halo effect in the middle.

Once blended, I cut the card panel down to 4" x 5.25".  Next up, I die cut all the pieces needed for my cute little acorn bunny!  This is from the Acorn Cubbies Layering Dies set.  You have several options for animals, including a fox, mouse, & racoon.  They are all adorable.

Time for assembly.  I love die cuts, they're liking putting a puzzle together!  There is a wonderful guide to die cutting and assembly on the packaging.  LDRS is always great about quality packaging with lots of details and ideas!

Once assembled, I added the sentiment to the card and stamped it in Raven Ink for a crisp contrast.  The sentiment is from the Acorny Hello Sentiments stamp set.  I then added the acorn to the front of the card with foam squares for a little dimension.

I adhered the card panel to an A2, top folding card base in a deep brown to accent the features of the card.  It's difficult to tell in the photos, but I also die cut the rim of the acorn in a textured, dark brown cardstock for a little added dimension.

I think these little critters are so cute, I will be making more cards with these cute little guys!  I hope you've enjoyed this little tutorial and find some time today to get crafty!  It's good for the soul!
