Let It Snow!
Hi all, Kirstynn here!
Welcome back to the LDRS inspiration page. I'm hoping that I can inspire you today with a whimsical shaker card I made using the newest release from LDRS.
First thing I did was cut out the front piece using the Plaid Cover Plate II. That cute snowflake background is from the Mackenna Christmas 12X12 Paper pack but you could use whatever patterned paper you have. Next I cut a piece of acetate to fit the A2 size front panel and glued it onto the plaid cover. I added some thin foam tape strips to the edges.
I use some antistatic powder along the edges of the foam tape before I peel back the release paper. This helps so that the sequins that are inside the shaker don't get stuck to the edge of the foam tape. After you dust it all down, use a soft cloth to wipe away the excess powder.
I then used the Large Word Christmas Set to create that sentiment. I just used some silver embossing powder on the word portion. But you could also use some glitter or metallic paper instead. I thought the "Let It Snow" sentiment was fitting. I then cut the shadow in some vellum and adhered the completed sentiment to the front panel.
Last is the fun part. I picked out some silver, pink and iridescent sequins and sprinkled them on top of the back panel while it was lying flat on my desk. Then I lined up my window piece and stuck the sandwich all together. Making sure to stick the edges down really well so nothing fell out. To complete this card I added some of the same pink sequins to the top.
I hope you all find some inspiration from this card. I love the soft pink and silver details. Happy Crafting!
all best,
Kirstynn
