Our Friendship is Amazing

KIrstynn here, today I'm sharing with you a card I made specifically for a friends birthday this month. I love it when I see a sentiment or a stamp set and it immediately makes me think of someone. Do you guys ever have this happen? This Dahlia set has a sentiment that says "Our friendship is Amazing" and it's perfect for the card I wanted to make.

I started by stamping this beautiful floral stamp and coloring it with some water based markers. I only used two colors, that dark pink and the green. However, I layered the ink up to create some dimension in both the petals and the leaves. You can still add some interest and dimension with limited color options.

After I got everything colored I used the cross stitched stamp that comes in the set and I quickly stamped some on a white panel. I didn't take much time to do this. I wanted it to be quick and not exactly perfect. I used the LDRS hybrid ink in the color Alloy.

I wanted to add some of that pink that the Dahlia is colored in, but I wanted to make sure they matched exactly. So, I just cut my panel to the size I wanted it to be and then colored on the edges with the same water based marker I used to color the Dahlia. You can see the color doesn't go down completely smooth like it would with an alcohol based marker. But, I love the texture that it gives.

Last step was to add my sentiment. Because the sentiment was the reason I wanted to make this card, I really wanted it to stand out. I used some gold embossing powder and embossed the sentiment and added it to the bottom of my floral image.
