Peaceful Petals

Good Morning my fellow paper crafters!  Kathy here today to show you a holiday card I created with the Perfect Petals Layering Dies, A2 Diagonal Stitched Layered Card Toppers and the Background Stitches Slimline 2 Dies.

I have cut an A2 card base and then cut from the A2 Diagonal Stitched Layered Card Toppers I cut a panel from the largest die.  I used red card stock.

Now for the floral element.  I used the small flower from the Perfect Petals Layering Dies.  The blossom pieces were cut in the same red card stock used for the first panel.  Then I used a pine green card stock for the leaf and the stem.

To create a little more dimension I added Watermark Ink and a clear but sparkly embossing powder to the top blossom and the stem and leaves and heat embossed.

Next, from vellum, I cut a strip with the Background Stitches Slimline 2 dies.  I ran the edge of the vellum through the Watermark Ink and added some gold powder and embossed.

While I had my heat tool out I stamped and embossed the Peace & Joy sentiment from the Peace & Joy Stamp set.  I used the Watermark Ink with gold powder.

I love these Perfect Pencil  Layering Dies.  While they are not necessarily for the holidays they are so versatile.  I think the colors really make a holiday card.  Here is a close-up of how I assembled the flower.

I cut a 4.25" x 5" panel of Neenah Solar White 110lb.  Then I cut several of the large flowers and leaves from the Perfect Petals Layering Dies in scrap white card stock.

I arranged these white die cuts on the A2 sized panel.  So you will have white on white.  Once I had the arrangement I wanted I glued them down.  Don't be afraid to let them hang over the edge.  We will cut this with the 3.78 x 5.05" A2 Diagonal Stitched Layered Card Toppers once all the pieces are glued and have dried.

You will notice that part of the leaf is on top of the vellum.  This allows for a little glue to be applied to the vellum to hold it down.  The vellum is also secured to the back of the white panel.

Next, I centered the white panel on the red card stock and adhere it with glue or Scotch Foam double sided foam tape.  I like the added dimension so I used foam tape.

I added a few gold pearls and the card is finished.  I hope you enjoy it!

Have a beautiful holiday season!
