Pretty Peony!
Hi everyone, It's Jennifer and I'm back to share this pretty Peony card with you all!
I don't know about you but I just love LDRS creative floral outline dies and the Lovely Peony Cluster Die is simply gorgeous!!
To make this I began with a champagne gold card front measuring 4.25 x 5.5 inches. Then I used the 1/2" Stitched A2 Background Strips Dies – LDRS Creative and cut strips from heavy weight white and pink cardstock. Once cut it adhered them diagonally to a white card base to create a cute pink and white striped background. I heavily splattered the background with gold water color paint and left it to dry. Meanwhile I set to work on my image and sentiment.
First I stamped a the sentiment "For You with Love" from the Everyday Sayings 4x8 Stamp Set – LDRS Creative onto heavy weight vellum using Watermark Emboss Pad – LDRS Creative, sprinkled with gold embossing powder and set it with my heat gun.
Then I took the largest of the Lovely Peony Cluster Dies – LDRS Creative and die cut it 3 times. Twice from white card stock and once from the same champagne cardstock as the card front. I stacked the gold diecut on top of the 2 white ones for a bit of dimension. To add some contrast I took some more heavy weight vellum and used drew around the outside of the die with a pencil, fussy cut it out and layered it behind the peony die cut.
Once the striped background was dry I used some liquid glue to adhere both the image and sentiment to the front. Being careful to only add the glue to the solid lines of the image and heat embossed sentiment, so that it would not show through the vellum.
After trimming off the edges of the peony that were hanging over the edge I layered the card front to the gold layer leaving a 1/8th inch border. Finally I finished this card with some liquid light gold embellishments just to add something a little extra.
I hope you enjoy this tutorial and I'll catch you all again soon!!
