Pretty Potted Hibiscus
Hello again, its Jen here and I'm back with another blog post and tutorial for all you crafters. This month I focused on the fabulous Potted Hibiscus 4x6 Stamp Set – LDRS Creative
I stated by stamping the main image on white heavy weight cardstock in Raven – LDRS Creative then used the Potted Hibiscus Layering Stencils – LDRS Creative to ink blend onto the stamped image.
These stencils are a dream to work with. They are numbered 1-4 and they line up perfectly with the stamped outlines. I'd recommend taping them down to avoid them shifting as you lay down the ink. Once you've used all four you'll have a beautifully coloured image in no time at all. It really is as straight forward as that.
The ink colours used were
The soil was coloured with a brown alcohol ink marker.
Once the ink was dry I fussy cut the image out with a sharp pair of scissors. I added some foam tape to the back and popped it onto a white cardstock mat measuring 5 x 3.75 inches. For added dimension I added more foam tape to the back of the white panel and centered it onto a pretty pink background One Fine Day 6x6 Paper Pack – LDRS Creative from the which was cut to a standard US A2 card size. I love with wide margin space between the white panel and the background. I really think it makes the image pop and draws your eye.
The sentiment was taken from the Love Wave Stack 4x6 Stamps – LDRS Creative stamped onto navy cardstock using Watermark Emboss Pad – LDRS Creative, then heat embossed in gold. The Wave Ribbon Stack Coordinating Die – LDRS Creative was used to cut it out and is was added to the card front.
As a final bit of embelishement I added some gold pearls and popped the card front onto a US A2 card base.
I love how it turned out and would definately recommend the stamps and stencils, they really do take a lot of the guess work out of colouring such an intricate image.
