Shimmery Delicate Stems Impress-ion Card

Hi everyone, Jen here! I cant believe its that time of the month already but I'm back to share some more card making ideas with you!
I chose this gorgeous Delicate Stems Impress-ion Press + Foil Plates – LDRS Creative and experimented by ink blending over a shimmery background!
I began by cutting a piece of watercolour paper down to a US A2 size card front, then lightly tapped on some water reactive powders that I have in my stash. I spritzed it with water and watched as the powers desolved and creates a soft, shimmery, watercolor effect background. It always looks like a hot mess that this stage but don't panic, leave it to dry and it'll look fabulous.........guaranteed!

Once dry I inked up the Delicate Stems Impress-ion Press + Foil Plates – LDRS Creative with Raven – LDRS Creative and ran it through my die cutting machine. The sentiment from this set was also added towards the bottom.

Next I took the coordinating Delicate Stems Layering Stencils – LDRS Creative and ink blended the blooms in Grape Ape – LDRS Creative using a light hand on stencil one and heavier on stencil two to create dimension. The leaves were inked with Evergreen – LDRS Creative

I was a bit nervous to when adding purple ink over the orange background, expecting it to turn into mud! However, surprisingly, the ink seems to kind of sit on top with some of the shimmery bits peaking through.

I trimmed the panal down to 5 1/4 x 4 inches and roughed up the edges with my scissors for a more rustic look and added a bow with black ribbon. I mounted the panel onto a pale orange card base and this finished the card!

All in all I'd say my experiment was a complete sucess!
