Valentines Postage College Card
Hi everyone, Jen here! I hope you've all had a great start to 2025!! Can you believe Janurary is almost over already!
As Valentine's Day is just around to corner, I was decided to make a love themed card as this months inspiration!
Products used,
Hugs & Kisses Postage Collage Layering Stencils – LDRS Creative
Hugs & Kisses Postage Collage 4x6 Stamps – LDRS Creative
Nested Postage Collage Dies – LDRS Creative
Tropical Sea – LDRS Creative
Little Boy Blue – LDRS Creative
Watermark Emboss Pad – LDRS Creative
I also used the following from my own stash,
1 x white side folding A2 card base
1 x white card stock panel
1 piece of dark teal cardstock
& white embossing powder.
I began by die cutting the postage stamp edged mat layer from dark teal cardstock and set it aside. Then I cut the postage college die from the white cardstock panel. I love the faux stitching detail in this die!!
Next I used the Hugs & Kisses layering stencils to colour the images with blending brushes. I wanted to use a simple colour palette whilst still getting a variety of shades. In order to acheive this I used varying pressure with the blending brushes to get lighter and darker tones of the same colours. I also lightly blended a little Alloy ink over the Tropical teal ink to darken it up.
Next I stamped some of the images from the coordinating Hugs & Kisses Stamp Set over the stencilled ones for some added interest along with a heat embossed sentiment. The sentiment was added to the ink blended panel with foam tape, then adhered to the teal layer and the card base.
This completed my card for this month. I think the darker colour scheme has a more masculine feel than my ususal cards. I hope this has given you all some inspiration and I look forward to sharing another project with you next month, bye!!
