Soda-lightful!

Hi crafty friends! Its Jen here, back with another card. The weather has really warmed up here in the UK over the past few weeks, which means summer has finally arrived! The glorious sunshine we've been having here was my inspiration for this months card.
I love large graphic stamps and the Soda Shop Pocket Pals 4x6 Stamps – LDRS Creative is so pretty. I makes me think of long hot sunny days, so I just had to use it for this card!
I usually make US A2 sized cards but the main image in this set is too big so I've stepped out of my comfort zone to create a 5x7 inch card.
I began placing the image into a stamping platform and stamped it with Raven – LDRS Creative. Then used alcohol markers to colour it in bright cheerful colours. Once finished I placed the image back into the stamping platform and re-stamped the outline with the same black ink, which really makes the colours pop!
**Tip** If you leave the stamp in the stamp platform you will be able to line it up with the coloured image perfectly when double stamping.**
Next I low tack tape to hold the Soda Shop Pocket Pals Coordinating Dies – LDRS Creative die in place and ran through my die cutting machine to cut it out.
It was then time to work on the background and card base so I cut and scored a heavy weight white card base to create a 5x7 card. Then cut a panel that was 4.75 x 6.75 inches from pink card stock and layered them together. I cut another white panel at 4.5 x 6.5 inches that I used as a background to my main image. Using the die and a pencil, I drew and faint pencil line around the inside of the die to give me an idea for the placement. Then used alcohol markers in several shades of green and blue to dot on colour to give the illusion of sky and grass. I placed the background into my stamping platform to stamp the sentiment in the top right corner and added my image with foam tape for dimension.
Finally, I added the background to the card base with liquid glue and added 3 pink hearts around the sentiment to finish it off.
I think it turned out great! So bright and and summery!
I hope the weather is great where you are.
Catch you all again soon!
