Spring vibes with Joyful Blooms

Hi everyone!
It's Erica back on the LDRS Creative blog with a CAS card, using all new goodies from the January release!
I am a sucker for for a floral set, and the gorgeous Joyful Blooms has a stamp set, diecut and layering stencils. I had to use it!
The colours I used with the layering stencils are very similar to the example on the back of the packaging, it was such a spring-fling vibe and I loved it. On top of the ink blending, I have used the outline stamp with white heat embossing to make it light and bright. The coordinating diecut is very clever too, as it cuts out both of the images in one go. On the back of this I added foam tape to add dimension and layer.
While I had my heat embossing stuff out, I used the outline stamp on a white background on the diagonal both on the top and the bottom too. This adds some interest and texture to the background, without detracting from the main image.
To add a little bit of a splash of colour to the background, I also used the new 1/2" Slimline Background Strips diecuts and cut some out of yellow, orange and teal card stock. These are adhered on the diagonal too, to cover up the gap between the heat embossed images on the background. This is another fun way of adding colour and texture to a background.
I picked out a sentiment from the You're Simply The Best stamp set, that says 'You make the world a better place'. This is a great sentiment set, and it's so clever too, as you stamp up all the sentiments in one go, and the coordinating diecut does the same. It cuts out all of the sentiments in run through your diecutting machine! Talk about time saver! The floral image and the sentiment strip were adhered to the card.
The final touch, as I am a bit of an over-sequinizer, was some clear sequins. These are tucked in under the flowers to add a subtle sparkle.
That's it from me for today, but I really hope you enjoyed this post and the card!
Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica
