Springtime Joy Card

Hi there!  Annie here, and today I'm sharing a fun slimline pocket card featuring the Friends Like You Stamp Set.  I love all of the little happy critters in this stamp set and wanted to place them in a bright and cheery scene where they could play in the street.

I started by stamping some of the images from the Friends Like You stamp set onto white cardstock with Raven Hybrid Ink.  After coloring them with alcohol markers, I cut them all out with the coordinating dies.

To create the cloud background,  I first cut white cardstock with the outer edge die from the Slimline Droplet Pocket Die.  Then I added a few layers of clouds using the Rainy Day Stencil and Marina Madness Hybrid Ink.

Next I cut the building backdrop out of white cardstock using the Down Main Street die.  Once I had quickly colored this scene with alcohol markers, I trimmed the die-cut down with the outer edge die from the Slimline Droplet Pocket die so that my entire background would piece seamlessly together in the end.

To assemble, I added the cloud background first to a top-folding white card base measuring 5.5" x 3" with foam adhesive.  Then I popped the line of buildings up on top and stamped the sentiment from the Friends Like You stamp set in the empty space in the sky using Dark Wash Jeans Hybrid Ink and a stamp positioning tool.

I added a "street" to the bottom of the building scene that I made by inking a strip of white cardstock with Raven Hybrid Ink (cut with the same outer edge die from the Slimline Droplet Pocket Die).  Once the scene was complete, I added the playing critters on top with foam adhesive.
