Sunshine Everyday - An Inky Tutorial

Hi ya everyone!  Melissa here to share a fun blending technique using the beautiful Hybrid Inks.  I'll also be using the GORGEOUS new 6x6 paper pad Puddle Jumpers for today's card and the new Puddle Jumpers Stamp set.

I start with a 2 x 4 inch piece of white card stock, Snowy White and Swimming Hole Hybrid Inks, two small sponge daubers and the FABULOUS Rainy Day stencil.

I smoosh the Snowy White Hybrid ink with a small sponge dauber and swipe it on my work surface.

Next, I pick up Swimming Hole Hybrid Ink with a small dauber.

Then rub the Swimming Hole dauber into the Snowy White on my work surface.  This picks up the white ink, before adding it to my paper, I smear the white and blue together on the work surface to create a very soft and creamy blue to use with my Rainy Day Stencil.

I gently add this color just to the top of my clouds on the stencil.  I continue to mix and add ink.

I move the stencil up and to the side, to get a new pattern of clouds on top of the first layer.  You can also wipe the stencil clean, and flip it over to get another set of clouds!  I love this stencil

I allow the ink to dry.  Next, I use the Sunshine sentiment from the Puddle Jumpers stamp set and ink the sunsh portion with the Lantern Yellow Hybrid Ink.  I ink the bottom portion of the sunshine with Grape Ape.  These colors match the Puddle Jumpers paper PERFECTLY!  I then stamp that on top of my cloud piece.

Next, I stamped the little sunshine that comes in the Puddle Jumpers Stamp set on top of the suns sentiment portion of sunshine.  It fits that spot perfectly, smart designing huh!?  I did use a stamping platform for the sun.  I had to stamp over other inks and really wanted a bold impression.

The rest of the work is really in the beautiful Puddle Jumpers paper.  I layered the sentiment piece on top of pieces of Puddle Jumper paper.  Each piece was cut just above the one below.  I didn't even measure.  Just visually matched paper under the sentiment.

I also found twine that had a Grape Ape feel to it to wrap around the card.  I layered the papers with adhesive.  The sentiment piece was popped off the card with foam tape.

The final look is simple and gorgeous.  The papers and the inks work so well together the effort was minimal!  I believe this is a great project for a beginning stamper and card maker!

Beautiful colors and gorgeous papers with ink, are all you really need to create this fun card.  All of which can be purchased at LDRS Creative!
