Sunshine & Smiles

Hello!  LeeAnn here with a feel good card from the new Hawaiian Vacation Stamp Set.  I woke up thinking about this card design and needed to get it down on paper.  It's definitely one you could also mass produce and add different sentiment strips from the Stack Stamp sets available at LDRS.  Let's get started!
This card is set on an A2 white card base.  I started with 5 hybrid inks in Soft Kisses, Peachy Keen, Banana Cream Pie, Prickly Pear and Swimming Hole.
I am using the Hawaiian Vacation 4x6 Stamp Set along with the coordinating dies.  As you can see, there are a lot of adorable images to use and so much versatility in this one stamp set.  The surf board is so simple and cute that I wanted to spot light it in this card and I LOVE any card with rainbow colors!!
First of all, I used the ink pads to swipe across white card stock and loved the imperfection of the varied colors.  It almost gives the look of wood grain on the surf boards.
Next, I stamped the surf board on each of the colors in LDRS Watermark ink and heat embossed in white embossing powder.  Next, die cut each of the 5 surf boards and lay them out on white card stock.  I used a T-ruler to help space and align the surf boards and glued them to the card panel.  I originally intended to cut the card panel using the A2 Stitched Layered Card Toppers Die Set.  This is my most used die set and I use it on almost every card to layer card panels.  However, I wanted a little more rugged interest so I decided to carefully tear the white card panel along the top and bottom of the surf boards.  I then layered on a sea glass colored card stock and tore along the top and bottom again.  I mounted this on the A2 white card base centered from top to bottom.
I added the sentiment by splitting the image and stamping one word on top (I masked the bottom half) and then stamping the bottom half of the sentiment on the bottom of the card (again by masking the top word).  I used LDRS Raven ink for the sentiment.  It stamps so crisply, it's my favorite black ink.
Lastly, I added some water drops for a little shine and dimensional interest.  It's so simple, but absolutely makes my soul sing.  I love a good clean card with rainbow colors.  I'm in love!!
What would you do differently???  I love hearing and seeing other card makers feedback!
I hope you enjoy this awesome stamp set and would love to see your creations.  Tag me @leeannleonard07 and I'll repost your shares!
Crafty hugs,
LeeAnn
