Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Hello and welcome back to the blog.  I love to find ways to stretch our paper making supplies and use them in ways that may not first occur to us.  Today I'm using the new All Star Collage Stamps and using them in a manner that's a little different than what I'm inclined to do initially.  I love all the collage sets and using them with the ledger stamps in making tags, cards, and even scrap book layouts.  I wanted to have a baseball theme for this card and some of the paper in the new Beautiful Day paper pack has detail that looks like the seams of a baseball.  Let me walk you through this assembly!
I first cut two pages of the blue card stock with the baseball seams in A2 size (4.5x5.5).  I hand drew the shape of a baseball field on a piece of masking paper and cut it out and used it to blend Key Lime Hybrid Ink on the bottom piece of card stock.  Next, I stamped 5 of the baseball themed images onto the same piece in Raven Ink.  I just love that foam finger!!
On the top piece of card stock, we will prep it for a shaker card!  I cut the center of the card using the new Floating Squares die and used the die a second time to cut another floating square from glossy black card stock.  I adhered window film to the back of the front card panel, then adhered the black floating square to the front of the window film in the opening.  Next, I adhered foam strips around the back of that front panel around the window opening to contain the shaker contents.
I added some star stamps to the front panel before assembling with the shaker contents.  I had some cute little baseballs in my stash, so I mixed those with a few silver sequins and used them for the shakers.
For the sentiment, I chose the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Special Occasions stamp set.  I love this set because it has coordinating dies and shadow dies for the sentiments.  It's heavenly!!!
I really love how this card came together.  I love the subtle details like the baseball stitching on the card stock.  It's just so fun!
Happy crafting!  See you soon!  LeeAnn
