Welcome Little One

Hi crafty friends, It's Kirstynn here today with another project to share. Let's jump right in.

To start, I cut out all of my oval pieces using the Delicate Stitches Scalloped Dies. Initially I wasn't really sure exactly how I wanted to layer the oval pieces together so I cut multiple and played around with them before I glued it all down. I used the largest oval to create a card base. To do this I scored it about 1 inch down the card as you can see here.

Once I had it scored I placed liquid adhesive only on the smaller portion of this piece. I then lined up the same size oval piece over the top and held them together until the glue dried. And this is what I ended up with.

When I had my card base made, I moved on to getting all of the oval layers put together. While those were drying, I stamped my flowers using the Thank You Flowers Stamps and Dies. I used a handful of different Hybrid inks to create the yellow and peachy flowers. Here is a list of all of the colors I used

After I had all of my flowers stamped, I needed to create a sentiment. To do this I used the Special Occasions Sentiments set. I love this stamp set because it cuts the shadow die as well the outline. Because I didn't have the exact color cardstock as the ink I had been using. I used the Peachy Keen ink directly onto white cardstock to create the perfect colored cardstock for the shadow die.

I then started arranging my floral elements on my card and gluing them down. Once I had it all glued down I adhered my sentiment toward the top. And last but not least I added some yellow jewels to the centers of the flowers.

I hope you all loved today's card. I really enjoyed creating it. Happy crafting!

Sorry, but I’m a newbie. Can you tell me why you scored the top half of the card and what purpose did it serve?
