Yellow Floral Swag

Today I'm sharing a card using one of my favorite floral sets from the most recent release. The Floral Swag Set. I wasn't sure what color I wanted to do these floral elements, but ultimately decided on Peachy Keen, Dan-D-Lion, and Olive Branch. I started by stamping the floral elements in black and then blending the above colors on the floral elements using the stencils. I love using stencils to color images, it makes everything so crisp and beautiful. 

Once I had all the florals inked, I cut them out using the coordinating dies.

 Based on the way the floral pieces curved, I knew I wanted to use a rounded edge. I went with a classic circle and added the frame using the Delicate Stitched Scalloped Circle Dies. I find myself reaching for these and the Delicate Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Dies often.  

Once I had the circle and the frame cut out, I used the Peachy Keen ink and added in a little highlight in the center of the circle using a very light hand. I then stamped and cut out my sentiment and added it in the center of the circle using some foam tape. 

I wanted some texture in the background so I used the Quilted Plaid Coverplate Die and trimmed it down to 4X 5.25". The next step is just to assemble all the pieces. I tucked some of the floral elements under the circle and some of them lay on top of the circle to add some additional dimension.
