Ants in a Row
Hello, folks!
Elle here with a quick and easy card creation for LDRS Creative, featuring a trail of snack-y ants from the brand new Ants Pants stamp set.
The moment I saw this adorable stamp set, I had an idea to make a trail of marching ants - like little thieves that are getting away with all the yummy picnic snacks. Ants Pants features some great elements to build a mini scene, as well as matching sentiments that are both sweet and punny.
I started by trimming down the plaid pattern from You Are My Sunshine 6x6 down to 4x5.25", then layered it onto a standard A2 gray card base. This gave me a little border frame for the paper and brought in a neutral color. I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to about an inch smaller than the pattern and stamped out a row of cute ants.
I cut apart the two little black ants to make it easier to stamp them in one direction (I promise, it didn't hurt the stamp!), but the ants are far enough apart so that only one at a time can be inked up. I stamped the bread and fruit on a separate paper and colored them in with alcohol markers. Then I fussy-cut them out and layered them on my trail of ants.
As the top of the card looked a little empty, I grabbed a piece of red cardstock and used The LDRS Creative Watermark Ink and LDRS Creative White Embossing Powder to white-emboss my sentiment. A few enamel dots in bright colors finished my card off perfectly!
Thank you so much for today and make sure to come back tomorrow for more inspiration!
