Exploring the Postage Collage Collection: To Cut or Not to Cut?

The new Beach Day Collection release adds to the growing Postage Collage Collection of stencils and dies. One wonderful thing about this new round of stencils is that one layer is designed for creating color in the background. My original intent was to take the new Great Outdoors Postage Collage Stamps and Layering Stencils Bundle and, once ink blended, separate the sections to create a layout with some of the sections on an A2 card. However, once I completed ink blending the stencil on the Postage Collage Die, I liked the look too much to cut it down.

Do you prefer to break down your postage stenciled images into smaller parts or keep them as a single piece?

If you want to recreate the postage collage card I made, you'll need the following products: Great Outdoors Postage Collage Stamps and Layering Stencils Bundle, Postage Collage Die, Adventure Awaits Collage and LDRS Hybrid Inks.

  • Die cut out the Postage Collage Die from white card stock.
  • Pick out what colours you would like to use from the huge collection of LDRS Hybrid Inks. I choose Lipstick Jungle, Peachy Keen, Dan-O-Lion, Evergreen, Olive Branch, Key Lime Pie, Dark Wash Jeans, Alloy, Coffee Bean and Iced Tea.
  • Align the first stencil over the postage frame and ink blend. Continue to do the same with stencil 2, 3 and 4. Don’t forget to wipe the ink of the stencil between colour changes.
    • Tip: For a simple blend use one colour per section
    • Tip: Stretch your colours by creating light ink colour and dark ink colour depending on how heavily you ink blend.
    • Tip: Step it up ink blend by using two ink colours for some larger sections.

  • A stamp positioner is useful to have because you can stamp lots of stamps at once. Although it can be done without; will just take little longer to stamp, stamps individually.
  • Layout and stamp a variety of sentiments and small images from Adventure Awaits Collage and Great Outdoors Stamp Set
  • Assemble Card: Adhere postage collage to a Kraft A2 cardbase.Hope you ‘enjoy’ed . Come create with us, because we don’t just make crafts - We Create Joy!
